Do you want to change the vacuum cleaner filter, but don't know exactly how to do it? No problem, with this step-by-step plan you'll have it fixed in no time!
What do you need?
Always first:
Changing the vacuum cleaner motor filter:
In some cases you may need to cut the filter to size first. Lay the old filter on top of the new filter to outline it. Then you'll know exactly what to cut off.
1. Remove the old motor filter
Open the vacuum cleaner. You can see the dust bag. Behind the vacuum bag is the motor filter. Take out the old motor filter. Sometimes you have to use force to pull the filter out. Be careful when doing this. To get better access, you may want to take out the vacuum bag first.
2. Fit the new motor filter
Insert the new motor filter in the same way as the previous filter was inserted. Then replace the dust bag and close the vacuum cleaner. You have replaced the motor filter!
Replacing vacuum cleaner exhaust filter:
In addition to a motor filter, a vacuum cleaner often has a filter where the air leaves the vacuum cleaner, or the exhaust filter. Below is the step-by-step plan for replacing the exhaust filter.
1. Remove the old exhaust filter.
The exhaust filter is usually located at the back. To replace the filter, the back must first be loosened. In some cases the filter is located at the top. In that case, loosen the top. Remove the old exhaust filter from the unit.
2. Insert the new exhaust filter.
Fit the new exhaust filter in the same way that the previous filter was fitted. Reattach the back or top. You have just replaced the exhaust filter!
