The dryer is a device that dries damp laundry. The drum of the dryer rotates while hot air is blown through it. This quickly dries the damp laundry. The drum rotates alternately left and right, so that the laundry does not get tangled as quickly. In the early 20th century, North Dakota developed the first automatic clothes dryer. His design for an electrically powered dryer was developed and released in 1938. In 2004, about 60% of Dutch households had a clothes dryer. Most households have a tumble dryer. In many cases it is directly next to or on top of the washing machine, so that the washing can go directly into the dryer. This can, of course, have many different causes. If the tumble drier does not want to run at all, it may be that the V-belt or drive belt of the tumble drier is worn or broken. This can often be repaired by yourself. Other problems that sometimes occur are that the filter or drainage pump is clogged, or that the heating element no longer reaches the correct temperature. These problems are also easy to repair and solve yourself!

If your tumble dryer makes a squeaking noise or stops working altogether, the problem may be with the drive belt. Sometimes it does not work properly or is worn out. In this case, the drive belt needs to be replaced. For this, you will of course first need a new drive belt. Replacing the drive belt or V-belt of a tumble dryer is relatively easy to do yourself. You will have your tumble dryer up and running again in no time!
As soon as your tumble dryer stops heating up, this may have various causes. In many cases, however, the problem lies with the thermostat or the heating element. To find out if the problem is caused by the heating element, it is best to measure it. As soon as warm air escapes from the tumble dryer, it is possible that the door rubber of the tumble dryer is broken or cracked. You do not want this to happen!
