Dishwasher - Replace the inlet valve

Difficulty: Moderate
Estimated time: ± 30 minutes

Want to replace your dishwasher's inlet valve, but not sure how? With this step-by-step plan, you'll have it fixed in no time!

What do you need?

Always start first:

  • Unplug the power cord.
  • Turn off the tap.
  • Tip: When disassembling the old part, take frequent pictures, so you can easily see how to reassemble the new part.

Replacing the dishwasher inlet valve:

1. Disconnect the hose from the inlet valve.
To replace the inlet valve, you need to be at the back of your dishwasher. Therefore, turn your dishwasher over. Remove the sealing ring from the hose. Pull/turn the hose loose from the valve.

2. Take out the old inlet valve.
First, disconnect the wiring that runs to the inlet valve. If necessary, use a screwdriver to pry the wiring loose. On the other side of the inlet valve, unscrew the supply hose. Loosen the inlet valve from the housing by using a screwdriver to slightly press the latch and slightly turn the valve.

3. Insert the new inlet valve.
Screw on the new inlet valve. Screw the inlet hose back on and reattach the wiring properly. Replace the drain hose and secure it with the locking ring. The inlet valve has been replaced and your dishwasher is ready to use again.

The correct number is the type or model number and NOT the serial number. The model number is a series of numbers and/or letters. Sometimes the model number contains a hyphen (-) or a forward slash (/).
