Tumble dryer - Ventilate

Difficulty: Easy
Estimated time: ± 5 minutes

It is important for a clothes dryer to have good ventilation. Check the ventilation capabilities of the clothes dryer.

Make sure the clothes dryer can ventilate properly:
A clothes dryer must be able to vent the moist air to the outside. This is often done through a drain hose or tube that goes out through a wall or window. Make sure that the drain hose or tube is not too long and does not have too many bends. If this is the case, the appliance may have difficulty draining the moisture.

If there are any ventilation slots in the unit or at the end of the pipe to the outside, check that they are not blocked. If the vents are clogged, clear them by gently picking out the dirt with a knitting needle or scissors, for example.

The water from the clothes dryer is discharged through a tube. This pipe is often connected to a siphon of a sink or to the drain of the washing machine. This is another place where a clog can occur.

The correct number is the type- or model number and NOT the serial number. The model number is a row of numbers and/or letters. Sometimes the model number contains a hyphen (-) or a forward slash (/).
