Step-by-step plan

Always first:

  • Unplug the power cord.
  • Tip: Take photos regularly while removing the old spare part, so you can easily see how to fit the new spare part later.

1. Dismantle the top and front panel

The impeller is located at the bottom of the tumble dryer on the motor shaft. First, you need to detach the top from the tumble dryer. Turn the dryer over and loosen the screws on the top panel. Can you already remove the entire side panel on your tumble dryer? If so, go straight to step 2. If not, disconnect the module now and unplug the cable. Then you can loosen and remove the door. After that, loosen all the screws on the front panel and take off the front panel.

2. Remove the old impeller

Loosen the side panel on the motor side. Remove the back cover that sits over the impeller housing. Take the belts off the motor and, if needed, the tension spring too. Now you can use water pump pliers to clamp the shaft of the motor and then loosen the fan wheel with a socket spanner.

If your fan wheel isn't fixed externally but internally, you'll need to dismantle the motor first and then you can remove the impeller.

3. Fit the new impeller

Fit the new fan wheel. Tighten the new fan wheel with a socket spanner. Then put the back cover back on. Put the belts back over the shafts of the motor, making sure the belt runs properly over the tensioner roller. Finally, attach the tension spring and put the side panel back on by tightening the screws.

4. Put the housing back

Put the housing back. Reattach the front panel, door, module and top panel by tightening the screws.
