Want to replace the door rubber on your dishwasher? With this step-by-step plan, it will be done in no time!
What do you need?
Always do this first:
Replacing dishwasher door rubber:
1. Remove the old door rubber.
Open the door of the dishwasher. The door rubber runs along the inside of the appliance. Remove the door rubber by gently pulling the door rubber loose at the bottom. Make sure the opening where the door rubber is pulled out is clean and dry.
2. Insert the new door rubber.
Find the center of the new door rubber. Push back the center of the door rubber at the top of the dishwasher, where the previous door rubber was stuck. Work from the center toward both ends. Push the door rubber in as far as you can, but do not stretch it out. To fit the new door rubber, you can gently blow dry the door rubber a little before fitting. This will remove all the small wrinkles and creases from the door rubber. In this way, the door rubber will fit snugly when installed. Make sure that the door rubber does not get too hot. Sometimes the new door rubber is a little longer. This is not a problem. In this case, make sure you fold the door rubber in a little.
3. Close the door of the dishwasher.
Close the door and push it gently. Then open the door again and see if the door rubber is still in the right place. If it is not, reinsert the door rubber. If the door rubber is in place, close the door and leave the appliance like this for a while. Over the next few days, it may seem that the door opens and closes a little less easily than it did before. Your dishwasher is ready to use again!
