Step-by-step plan

What do you need?

Always first:

  • Unplug the power cord.
  • Turn off the faucet.
  • Tip: When disassembling the old part, take pictures frequently, so you can easily see how to reassemble the new part.

Replacing the washing machine inlet valve:

1. Detach the top cover of the washing machine.
The inlet valve of the washing machine is at the back, therefore turn the washing machine over. Disconnect the water supply hose from the washing machine. Loosen the screws at the back of the washing machine to remove the top cover. You then simply pull the top cover off the washing machine.

2. Remove the old inlet valve from the washing machine.
You should see the inlet valve with two plugs at the top of the washing machine. Unplug the two plugs. Remember which plug is in which spot. You can now detach the inlet valve from the back plate by loosening the screws. The inlet valve is then only connected to two hoses. These can be loosened by pushing down the metal rings with a pair of pliers. The old inlet valve is now separate from the device.

3. Place the new inlet valve.
Attach the hoses to the new inlet valve, with metal washers, and then place the inlet valve back in the washing machine by securing it to the back of the washing machine. Tighten the screws again. Place the plugs back in their proper places.

4. Place the top cover back in place.
Place the top cover back on the washing machine. Screw this back on as well. You can then reattach the water hose to the unit and put the washing machine back in place. The inlet valve has been replaced and the washing machine is ready to use again!

The correct number is the type- or model number and NOT the serial number. The model number is a row of numbers and/or letters. Sometimes the model number contains a hyphen (-) or a forward slash (/).
