Dishwasher - Replace the spray arm

Want to replace your dishwasher's spray arm, but not sure how? With this step-by-step plan, you'll have it fixed in no time!

What do you need?

Always do this first:

  • Unplug the dishwasher.
  • Turn off the tap.
  • Tip: When disassembling the old part, take regular pictures, so you can easily see how to reassemble the new part.

Replacing the top spray arm of the dishwasher:

1. Remove the upper basket from the dishwasher.
Open the dishwasher and remove the upper basket from the dishwasher.

2. Remove the spray arm from the basket.
Turn the upper basket over and remove the spray arm with tube from the basket. The spray arm can be unscrewed from the tube by first pressing it down slightly.

3. Place the new spray arm on the basket.
Place the new spray arm where the old spray arm was attached and snap it onto the basket.

4. Place the upper basket back into the dishwasher.
Place the upper basket back into the dishwasher. You have replaced the upper spray arm!

Replacing the dishwasher lower spray arm:

1. Remove the lower basket from the dishwasher.
Open the dishwasher and remove the lower basket from the dishwasher.

2. Detach the spray arm.
Detach the spray arm by pulling it upwards.

3. Insert the new spray arm.
Install the new spray arm by gently pressing it into place where the old one was.

4. Place the lower basket back into the dishwasher.
Place the lower basket back into the dishwasher. You have replaced the lower spray arm!
