Want to replace the door rubber on your washing machine? With this step-by-step plan, you'll have it fixed in no time!
What do you need?
Always first:
Replacing the washing machine door rubber:
1. Remove the door of the washing machine.
Open the door of the washing machine. Loosen the screws from the hinge and carefully remove the door from the appliance.
2. Loosen the old door rubber.
Using a screwdriver, loosen the outer retaining clip that holds the door rubber in place. Then pull the door rubber and push it into the drum. Pull the door rubber loose from the drum, taking the spring with it as well. Remove the door rubber.
3. Insert the new door rubber into the washing machine.
Place the new door rubber back where the previous door rubber was by placing it in the groove near the drum and securing it again with the spring. If necessary, lubricate the new door rubber with some soap. This will make the door rubber slip and make it easy to place the new door rubber in the washing machine. Replace the door rubber securely around the front panel door opening when the door rubber is reattached on the inside. Press the new door rubber firmly in place. Replace the retaining clip.
4. Place the door back on the washing machine.
Re-tighten the screws on the door hinge to the appliance. You have replaced the door rubber and the washing machine is ready to use again!
