Step-by-step plan

Always first:

  • Unplug the oven.
  • Tip: When disassembling the old part, take regular pictures, so you can easily see how to reassemble the new part.

1. Remove the oven casing.

The switch is at the top of the oven. To access it, you first need to loosen the top of the oven. You do this by loosening the screws and then removing the top.

2. Remove the old switch.

First, disconnect the wiring using pliers. If necessary, take a picture so you can easily reconnect the wiring in the right place later.

It may be that the switch is fastened with screws, in which case first pull the knob off the switch and then unscrew the screws that emerge. In this oven, the knob and switch are attached to each other with a click system. Bend the metal clips and pull the knob and switch towards you to remove them as a whole. Then detach them from each other using a flathead screwdriver.

3. Fit the new switch.

Fit the new switch to the knob first and place it back into the housing. Bend back the metal clips. Reattach the wiring to the switch.

4. Replace the casing.

Place the top back on the oven and re-tighten the screws.
