Step-by-step plan

Always first:

  • Unplug from the socket.

1. Remove the casing

Loosen the screws at the back. Pull the casing backwards and then lift it off to remove it.

2. Discharge the capacitor

Before you start the repair, it’s important to first discharge the capacitor. It can still hold a high voltage. Use a piece of insulated tool and carefully connect the two voltage terminals of the capacitor together.

3. Remove the old fuse

Fuse 1: A fuse can be mounted in different ways. In this microwave, the fuse is attached to the cables, but sometimes the fuse itself can be easily removed.

Fuse 2: The fuse is held in place by clips, use a small Allen key to pop it out of the clips.

4. Place the new fuse

Put the new fuse in the place of the old one. And reconnect the cables to the right spot if needed.

5. Put the casing back

Put the casing back in place and tighten the screws properly.
