Step-by-step plan

Always first:

  • Turn off the tap.
  • Tip: When taking out the old spare part, take photos as you go. That way, you can easily see how to fit the new spare part back in.

1. Loosen the bottom of the dishwasher

The drain pump is at the bottom of the dishwasher. Carefully lay the appliance on its side and loosen the bottom. For some appliances, you’ll need to undo screws, but in this case there’s a click system.

2. Remove the drain pump

The drain pump is attached to the housing with a click system. On your dishwasher, it might be fixed with screws instead. Detach the drain pump and take it out of the appliance. Then disconnect the wiring.

3. Fit the new drain pump

Connect the wiring to the new drain pump. Put the new drain pump back where the old one was.

4. Replace the housing

Reattach the bottom of the dishwasher. You can do this by clicking the bottom back into the retaining clips.
