About the toaster

These days, you don't have to sit down to a sticky sandwich. Instead of a sticky sandwich, you can enjoy perfectly toasted bread. Today, the toaster invented in 1893 is more than just a toaster. The device was invented by Scotsman Alan MacMasters. In 1905, Albert Marsh developed the nichrome heating wires consisting of a nickel-chrome alloy. These are still used in toasters today. The 'pop-up' effect that automatically throws the sandwiches out of the toaster was patented by Charles Strite in 1919. Over the years, more and more functions have been added to the toaster besides just toasting bread. You can also place frozen bread directly into the toaster, there is a special function for that. Some toasters also allow you to toast one side of a slice of bread or a bagel. You can also use certain toasting clips to make a toasted sandwich with a toaster. There are also toasters with touchscreens that let you choose the setting for how you want your bread toasted. For example, you can choose completely black, slightly toasted or nicely browned.

Repairing a broken toaster

When your toaster breaks down, it is very annoying. You might quickly think that you have to replace your appliance straight away or have it repaired. Actually, this is often not the case. Parts can be repaired more easily than you might expect. Repairing actually only has advantages. It is good for your wallet and for the environment. By repairing your appliance, you contribute to a green and sustainable world. By repairing your appliance and not throwing it away, you help reduce e-waste. By repairing your appliance, you extend its lifespan. Besides being good for the environment, it is also good for your wallet. This is because calling in a mechanic or ordering an entirely new appliance is often much more expensive than buying a new part. We therefore always recommend first seeing if you can repair the appliance. To this end, we have developed a tool in collaboration with Natuur & Milieu. This tool tells you in 5 steps whether you can repair your appliance or not. Do the repair check here at FixPart.

Toaster grates badly

It can happen that your toaster only toasts one side of your slice of bread. The problem may then lie with the toaster's springs. Check that the basket support springs have not moved. Those springs, besides being shifted, can also be broken. If this is the case, you can replace the springs of the support grates just fine!

The correct number is the type- or model number and NOT the serial number. The model number is a row of numbers and/or letters. Sometimes the model number contains a hyphen (-) or a forward slash (/).
