About Pelgrim

On 4 June 1920, 'enamelling factory Neerlandia' was founded in Gaanderen. The company was founded by Messrs J.M.G Oorsprong and B.J. Pelgrim. In 1931, Mr Pelgrim founded the Pelgrim company as a subsidiary of Neerlandia. At Pelgrim, the immediate focus was on cooker sales. During World War II, most employees were requisitioned for work in Germany. In a separate workshop, employees were allowed to continue working and folk stoves made of cast iron were manufactured. In the years after the war, Pelgrim was able to continue to grow quietly, creating more and more new product types. In 1952, the production of gas comfors and gas cookers began. This was followed by the development of oil stoves. In 1986, Pelgrim was acquired by the company ATAG. In 1987, ATAG Holding N.V. was established along with a number of other subsidiaries. At the company, the focus is on consumer goods such as household appliances. Even bicycles are added to the range. In 1992, Pelgrim was the first to launch the stainless steel combination microwave oven on the market. With this, Pelgrim fulfilled customer wishes. Since then, Pelgrim has been one of the largest suppliers of combination microwave ovens in the Netherlands. In 2000, the ETNA company takes over the bankrupt ATAG Group N.V. The three brands ATAG, ETNA and Pelgrim are merged in new premises in Duiven. This is where the companies are still located today. In 2020, Pelgrim is the first to market the 3-in-1 oven. In which there are functions of oven, microwave and steamer. Today, you won't find Pelgrim only in cookers but they also have a wide range of refrigerators, coffee makers and washing machines.
